Galle Club - Bali

Galle Club is a fresh addition to the dining scene in Ubud, Bali, paying homage to the vibrant history of the Galle Fort in Sri Lanka. Constructed by the Portuguese in the 16th century and later fortified by the Dutch, this iconic monument is a confluence of European architecture and South Asian traditions.

These two influences formed the inspiration for the restaurant’s brand world. Galle Club’s brand logo is inspired by the lotus motif, a symbol deeply rooted in Sri Lankan tradition. Culturally, the lotus symbolises resilience and purity due to its unique ability to blossom in muddy waters — much like the Galle Fort itself, which has stood the test of time.

The brand icons draw inspiration from the fort’s European architecture. Vintage imagery sourced from public domain libraries transports guests to a bygone era, while the overall art direction showcases Sri Lanka's fascinating history with a contemporary touch.
